Into the FUTURE!

While I was still in high school, I didn’t really think of going to college. I thought to myself, “What is the point of college when you’re just going to go back and work at a retail store even with a college degree?” So in high school, I slacked off a lot and did not turn in my assignments. When I went to Thailand in 2009, it changed my way of life. When I was in Thailand, it taught me a lot of things that I should be appreciative including school, family, career, and home. While I was there, I many things that I had in the US that they didn’t have. The schools were different than in the US. They did not have libraries, resources that could help them graduate from college, and financial help for families in need. Being there in Thailand with my mom’s side of the family and having them teach me to be proud of what I already have. They said for them, they don’t have any of the things that I have. So after I left my family to come back home to the United States, I decided to change my way of how I deal with my life. I started concentrating in school, staying after for help and catching up with my credits towards graduation. I’ve always thought that I had the hard life but I found out that I didn’t. I am glad that I went with my mom and my two sisters to Thailand, to experience how life in Thailand was. It made me open my eyes wider and appreciate what I have. It has made me work harder and consider going to college to get a bachelor’s degree after I graduated from high school.
